Job Description:
Payroll Specialist ensure accurate and timely payroll processing
for over 200 employees, maintaining compliance with all applicable
laws and regulationsESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: - Meet weekly,
bi-weekly, and semi-monthly payroll deadlines by ensuring thorough
collection and organization of all employee time and attendance
data. - Validate time records and hours worked to guarantee
accurate payroll computations. - Ensure timely approval and
processing of timecards and initiate off-cycle check requests as
required. Distribute checks to employees as necessary. - Resolve
pay-related inquiries promptly, ensuring all active employees are
paid correctly or confirm non-working hours - Conduct pre-payroll
audits before finalizing payroll processing and perform system data
integrity audits to maintain accurate payroll information. - Work
closely with HR for the coordination of final wage payments, new
hires, and pay rate changes. Distribute employee communications
regarding time and attendance updates, reminders, and training. -
Strong understanding of California labor laws, payroll tax
regulations, and reporting requirements. Stay updated on federal
and state legislation and regulations that affect payroll. - Assist
HR Manger - All other job-related duties as assigned.PHYSICAL
DEMANDS: - Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a
computer. - Occasional lifting and carrying of office supplies or
equipment, up to 20 pounds. - Ability to move around the office to
supervise staff and address tasks as needed.QUALIFICATIONS: - High
school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in payroll
processing or accounting preferred. - Minimum of 2-3 years of
payroll processing experience, preferably in a mid-to-large sized
organization. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and payroll
software applications. - Strong attention to detail and accuracy in
data entry and recordkeeping. - Excellent organizational and time
management skills. - Effective communication skills, both verbal
and written. - Ability to work independently with minimal
supervision and as part of a team. - Commitment to maintaining
confidentiality and integrity in handling sensitive payroll
information.
